As of January 5, 2014, you can now file for an Illinois Concealed Carry License.
Effective July 9, 2013, the Firearm Concealed Carry Act became state law (430 ILCS 66), which requires an Illinois Concealed Carry License in order to carry a concealed firearm in Illinois.
The Firearm Concealed Carry Act requires that applicants must successfully complete 16 hours of firearms training, which includes a combination of classroom and range instruction. American Concealed Carry Training Academy is approved by the Illinois State Police to conduct Illinois Concealed Carry Firearms Training.
Once you have completed the 16 hours of required training, you can submit your application through the Illinois State Police. Visit the ISP website for more information. You will be required to submit your fingerprints, along with your certification of Illinois Concealed Carry Firearms Training course completion.
